Notre Dame could land its 15th commitment in the 2014 class this week if St. Thomas Aquinas Wide Receiver Corey Holmes decides to select the Irish over the UCLA Bruins. Holmes? decision to finally pull the trigger comes after an unofficial visit to UCLA On July 9th. The Irish were extremely confident in their chances of landing Holmes. The timing of the decision does put some doubt into where Holmes will decide to play his college football.

Holmes plays his high school football for the Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. Notre Dame is very familiar with landing players from Aquinas. Former Aquinas alumni include Left Tackle Sam Young, Center/Guard Dan Wenger and Long Snapper Jordan Cowart.

The 6-2 175 lbs Wide Receiver currently holds 32 offers. He recently participated in Nike?s ?The Opening? with Notre Dame commitments Justin Brent, Elijah Hood, DeShone Kizer and Quenton Nelson. According to 247Sports, Holmes is the 33rd best Wide Receiver prospect in the class of 2014.

Holmes has been high on Notre Dame for some time. He has only wanted to make sure that his decision was the right one. Holmes has been through in the process. He would not suddenly jump the gun to select UCLA without letting it set in, would he?
